Born to Russian Jewish parents Sheldon showed a creative spark when he was very young. He was keen on writing trying his hand at everything from poetry to short stories. Sidney moved to Hollywood in 1937 where he worked on movie scripts and made contributions to various B-grade movies. Writing scripts for MGM Studios and Paramount Pictures Sidney earned a reputation for being prolific and consistent.
